Sutherland Sharks FC are rebuilding for a strong 2025 season under the new Head of Youth Football, Paul Reid. With fresh leadership, a renewed vision, and an increased budget, we are seeking highly qualified and ambitious coaches who are passionate about youth football and eager to advance their coaching skills under Paul's expert guidance.

Boys SAP and Youth Coaches

Reports to: Paul Reid, Head of Youth Football
Position Type: Part-time
Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience

Sutherland Sharks FC is focused on nurturing young talent and fostering a positive, elite environment for player development. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SAP and Youth Football Coaches to join our team and contribute to the growth and success of our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coaching and Development:

    • Plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality training sessions that align with the club’s football philosophy and development goals.

    • Focus on individual player development, improving technical skills, tactical understanding, and overall performance.

    • Monitor and assess player progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored development plans.

  2. Match Day Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and manage youth teams for match days, including tactical setup, team selection, and in-game coaching.

    • Analyse match performances and provide detailed feedback to players and the Head of Youth Football.

  3. Player Welfare:

    • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all players.

    • Ensure players’ physical and mental well-being, working closely with support staff.

  4. Communication and Collaboration:

    • Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, and club staff.

    • Collaborate with other coaches and the Head of Youth Football to ensure consistency and continuity across all youth teams.

    • Participate in regular coaching meetings and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant coaching qualifications (e.g., FFA/AFC C License or higher).

  • Proven experience in coaching youth football, preferably at a similar level.

  • Strong understanding of player development principles and coaching methodologies.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

  • Passionate about football and committed to the development of young players.

We’d Also Love To See

  • Experience using VEO or similar video review technology to visually educate and provide actionable feedback, enhance player learning and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within your team.

Brand New Facilities for 2025

The 2025 season at Sutherland Sharks FC will also see the long-awaited opening of our new club facilities at Seymour Shaw. This will include:

  • Brand new fitness and rehab facilities.

  • Dedicated space for coaching staff to perform video analysis and reviews with their squad.

  • Brand new change rooms.

  • Comfortable lounge space and a new cafe.

  • New large space for team meetings and events.
